Simply place the stems in fresh water, replenish weekly, and cuttings will develop roots and sprout leaves in either low light or indirect sunlight. A thriving Dracaena (bamboo) symbolizes good fortune in many Asian countries. The bamboo stalk will not grow any taller once cut. The leaves of the plant grow and slowly develop into stalks themselves, growing about 1 inch per month. Some assembly is required.
